Speech by Luo Zhengren, Executive Vice President, at the 2011 China Wooden Door Association Presidents' Work Conference

　　Respected President Zhang, Vice Presidents, industry elites, ladies and gentlemen, good morning to you all!

　　Today, Chengdu welcomes everyone with gentle winds and warm sunshine. It is no exaggeration to say that because all of you here control the direction of China's door industry and influence the development and future of China's wooden doors, Chengdu's weather dares not be negligent. As a part of this climate, I naturally express my warmest and most sincere welcome here. I have been looking forward to this day and the moment of your arrival for a long time!

　　Summer in Chengdu is the happiest season of the year in the land of Bashu and the land of abundance. The flourishing Chinese wooden door industry in this prosperous era is like the summer in Chengdu, blooming with countless flowers. No one can deny that the Chinese wooden door industry is now full of the best opportunities. No era has had such a vast army of wooden door manufacturers, no dynasty has had such a huge consumer base for wooden doors, and no country has such a massive wooden door industry as China today.

　　"Isn't it a pleasure to have friends come from afar?" The China Wooden Door Association entrusted the 2011 President's Work Meeting to the Great Southwest, to Sichuan, to Qianchuan. This is the trust of President Zhang as the core, the executive vice presidents, vice presidents, and many colleagues of the China Wooden Door Association in Qianchuan. Because of everyone's great support, I have more confidence and courage to provide service and build a platform for authoritative voices to share true insights on the development of Chinese wooden doors.

　　"Scientific development, leading the future" is the theme of this President's Work Meeting. We have every reason to grasp development and the responsibility to lead the future, so that we are worthy of history, worthy of the times, and worthy of ourselves.

　　Today, Chinese wooden doors are in the golden period of development in history. This is our industry's pride and honor. We must thank the era for giving pioneers the opportunity to ride the waves and experience the grandeur of rivers and seas. We have proven the greatness of our cause through hard work and struggle, defended the honor of wooden doors with courage and wisdom, and established the status of wooden doors in the home world with integrity and service.

　　There is no eternal pure land in the world. We live in an era of competition, trekking through a real yet illusion-filled market environment, constantly facing ever-changing challenges and temptations. However, with every step we take, authoritative organizations such as the Wood Door Professional Committee of the China Timber & Wood Products Distribution Association see and affirm our achievements; with every development, upstream enterprises and real estate developers place their trust in us, boosting our morale; with every solid footprint we leave, discerning consumers buy our products, filling us with confidence and infinite passion for our cause.

　　"Be honest and steady in conduct, be diligent and conscientious in making doors," "If you can't be Lu Ban, keep Lu Ban in your heart," "Make a living by making doors, take pride in making doors" — these are Qianchuan Wooden Door's development views and the eternal science of Qianchuan Wood Industry.

　　I hereby present the following three proposals at this meeting:

　　(1) Industry self-discipline is the only way to safeguard the vital interests of the wooden door industry; our destiny is in our own hands.

　　China's wood industry has taken thirty years to complete the long market development path that Western societies took two hundred years to traverse. In other words, what Western societies absorbed in two hundred years, we have absorbed in thirty. Therefore, it is no secret that our market competition system often suffers from symptoms of poisoning, with some bloating and swelling replacing our health. If we are not calm, the virus will take advantage; if we are not self-disciplined, we may ruin the bright future of the wooden door industry and be ridiculed by history.

　　Therefore, in accelerating economic and social development, regulating corporate behavior, and protecting legitimate corporate rights and interests, we must fully utilize the association's functions to lead the industry into self-discipline and purify the competitive environment.

　　(2) Eliminate bubble advertising, promote healthy industry development, and let consumers become the true beneficiaries, truly serving our providers of livelihood.

　　Be honest and steady in conduct, be diligent and conscientious in making doors. Making doors is our way of life; consumers are our providers of livelihood. Serving consumers means letting them truly benefit.

　　Media placement, brand endorsement, and channel expansion are the rules of the market game, all indispensable. However, we must never exaggerate their role or be controlled by them. Irrationally amplifying their influence indulges the industry's own expectations under the market economy system and is irresponsible to end consumers.

　　We must remember that throughout history, the profession of wood craftsmen is noble and sacred, existing at every stage of social development, not only under market economy conditions. Otherwise, misjudging development directions and over-relying on game tactics will hand over the hard-earned achievements of wooden door development to speculative links, satisfying speculative psychology and benefiting speculators. Over time, the brilliant Chinese architectural civilization accumulated through our experience, time, and life will be tarnished. We must respect commercial innovation, avoid being exploited by commerce, and prevent being hijacked by unscrupulous strategies, truly returning benefits to consumers and society.

　　(3) The development direction of wooden doors is shifting from technology-driven to customer demand-driven. Follow the path of environmental protection and create green doors.

　　Only when forests exist can wooden doors exist. Energy saving, consumption reduction, and environmental protection must always be heeded. We still have technological innovation to realize the wish to be woodworkers and carpenters. Energy saving, consumption reduction, and low carbon are the requirements of the times and the principles that must be followed for good and rapid development. We will grasp the prosperous development of Chinese wooden doors with a scientific outlook on development, hold the pulse of wooden door development with a strong sense of urgency, and grasp the right to survive with the urgency of manufacturers.

　　Vice Presidents, industry elites, ladies and gentlemen:

　　"An eagle tied with gold cannot soar in the sky!" As long as we remain humble, cautious, pragmatic, and lightly equipped, we deserve the growth of Chinese wooden doors, the development of Chinese wooden doors, and our era.
