The Perfect Bloom of Qianchuan Special Channel Lotus — Exclusive Interview with Li Zhenglian, Head of Qianchuan Wooden Door Special Channel Department
When assigned the exclusive interview task with Li Zhenglian, the supervisor of the Special Channel Department, I gathered some information about her in my mind. Recalling when I first joined the company, my first impression of Supervisor Li was that she was gentle yet capable, giving a sense of calm. This interview opportunity allows us to gain a deeper understanding of her work and life.
Speaking of her connection with Qianchuan, Li Zhenglian said: "In 2008, I happened to start working at Qianchuan. At that time, I just thought it was close to home and that Qianchuan was quite good." Thus, she formed an inseparable bond with Qianchuan, and this year marks her fifth year here.
Supervisor of the Special Channel Department, Li Zhenglian
On a platform like Qianchuan, she has completed a perfect transformation in her career. From an ordinary grassroots employee, she has steadily worked her way up to the middle management position of Special Channel Department supervisor. This is a process honed by work, attitude, and time.
Now in charge of the Special Channel Department, she recalls the hardships of the early days with deep emotion: "I still remember when I first joined, the company's workwear project was not very large. All internal tasks such as drafting, project budget quoting, order tracking, and collection were done by me alone. But I didn’t feel tired then; instead, I felt that the more tasks I had, the more I was training myself. Before coming to Qianchuan, I had no exposure to the wooden door industry and was almost blank on industry knowledge, so I needed to learn and recharge myself. I kept learning in the workshop, constantly learning from colleagues, and researching on my own. The more I learned, the better my work became."
With the company's development, the Special Channel Department team has been growing continuously, from one person at the start to now a large and powerful team. Although many tasks can be shared by more people, with the increasing number of engineering orders, Li Zhenglian’s daily work is still tightly scheduled: producing and reviewing various project materials; coordinating communication between clients and company departments; organizing and arranging project orders; handling emergencies; standardizing and inspecting internal department work, etc. In the busy and repetitive daily work, she realizes her life’s value. Long-term work experience enables her to handle many work challenges skillfully. Winning the Vanke project is a good proof of this.
During last year's Vanke annual centralized procurement, with tens of millions in bids, they had to complete inquiries for dozens of different styles and materials of wooden door raw materials, cost budgeting, design optimization, and more within just a few days. The company specially formed a task force composed of procurement staff, technical personnel, and the Special Channel Department. During those days, everyone worked overtime and cooperated closely, ultimately completing the entire project within the set time and winning the engineering order. I asked her if she was tired. She said: "Of course I was tired, but in a team like Qianchuan, we have to persist even when tired. When I see the thick stack of carefully prepared bidding materials, I feel a great sense of accomplishment. Winning the bid is a recognition of our work. Seeing this, no matter how hard or tiring it was, it was worth it, haha."
The Special Channel Department led by Li Zhenglian has won the "Qianchuan Wooden Door Excellent Team" award for three consecutive years. Behind these honors, Supervisor Li has many experiences and insights to share. She said: "The company's projects are getting bigger and bigger, and many of our partners are top domestic real estate companies. Competition is becoming more intense, and our professional requirements are higher. We are required to produce the highest quality bids, construction plans, products, etc., in the shortest time. This tests the company's competitiveness, as well as the personal and team abilities, stress resistance, and stamina. It requires everyone to unite more closely and demonstrate team spirit." Speaking of collaboration, the Special Channel Department has always shown its cohesion and team spirit as a concentrated reflection within the company. "No employee does not want to do a good job unless they have obvious personality or physical defects. In most cases, when employees do not perform well, it is a management issue. It is because they do not know what they need to do, to what extent, and to what standard. Therefore, I have always insisted on managing with standardization and normalization to compensate for employees' lack of experience and reduce errors among new employees. This way, they grow faster, and the entire department operates more orderly."
Regarding the future outlook for Qianchuan, Supervisor Li said: "Qianchuan has developed rapidly in recent years. The company is continuously reforming and improving, while also pushing us to progress and improve our professional skills. I believe that under the correct leadership of the company's senior management, Qianchuan will grow bigger and become a top wooden door enterprise nationwide. At that time, the stage for us will be bigger and broader, and I believe every one of us at Qianchuan will have better career development."
