Qianchuan Wooden Doors undergoes re-certification audit for environmental management and occupational health systems
On July 23, three experts from the Shanghai Quality System Audit Center arrived at Qianchuan Wooden Door's Chengdu headquarters to begin a two-day re-certification audit of the company's environmental management and occupational health and safety management systems.
The audit covered all elements and some departments related to the production of the company's wooden door series products and related activities. The audit content included the environmental management system and occupational health system certification certificates and the use of certification and accreditation marks, national or local supervision and spot checks, system changes, and other aspects.
During this audit, the three experts split into three groups to fully affirm the continuous effectiveness of the company's system operation, the thorough implementation of environmental management and occupational health and safety policies, the applicability and operability of environmental management and occupational health and safety management system documents, the rationality of identifying and evaluating environmental factors and hazards, the applicability and compliance evaluation of laws and regulations, the completion of environmental management and occupational health and safety objectives throughout 2011, the control of the production process, the effectiveness of energy-saving and consumption-reducing measures, the rationality of solid waste disposal, and the conformity of certificate and mark usage.
The audit team believes that the company's leadership attaches great importance to these two major certification systems, resulting in orderly progress of various tasks. The company regularly conducts internal audits, management reviews, quality objective assessments, quality problem analyses, corrective and preventive measures, and rectification of non-conformities, continuously improving the effectiveness of system operation. The company's environmental management and occupational health and safety management systems operate normally and effectively, but there are still obvious shortcomings in the periodic inspection of boilers, a major safety hazard, the cleaning of dust in the plant area, and the safety management of handheld power tools, which need to be strengthened and improved.
It is reported that the non-conformance reports and communication items issued during the audit will be rectified by the relevant company departments within the specified time limit. After rectification, the corrective measures and evidence will be submitted to the Shanghai Quality System Audit Center for review. Certification registration and certificate reissuance will proceed only after passing the review.
