After the group arrived at the Weita Funnel, they explored the cultural customs of the Weita Funnel through various forms. The group stayed at Shuxing Farm in the Weita Funnel, chatting daily with local elders about the history, myths, climate, and unique landscapes of the Weita Funnel, bringing rich and valuable cultural information to the investigation team. Led by local elder Yang Mingguang, they conducted on-site inspections around the Weita Funnel; they also voluntarily visited local homes to understand folk customs and deepen their knowledge of the Weita Funnel. When they heard that the owner of Shuxing Farm had a genealogy book, they treasured it and eagerly asked to see it; upon learning about a marvelously crafted natural bridge in the Weita Funnel, the group was eager to visit it; when locals said that the water in the Weita Funnel's horizontal trenches is invisible at the source but eventually converges and flows underground through caves, the group was very curious and immediately followed the river to the convergence point. Seeing the flowing water and not knowing where it would go, Mr. Liu Mingjiang marveled at the area's unique terrain.
On-site inspections around the Weita Funnel
After several days of investigation, Mr. Liu developed a deep affection for the Weita Funnel and openly expressed his desire to retire there, while also contributing ideas for its tourism development. He said: "The development of the Weita Funnel must start with collecting complete data early on. To make it a scenic area, there must be sufficient reasons to support it. Descriptions should cover geology, geography, location, environment, nature, and other aspects, so that more people can know about, explore, and share the Weita Funnel."
