A Small Nang Warms the Heart — Alimu Cares Deeply for Qianchuan

Nang, known as "oven bread" in ancient times, is one of the main staple foods loved by all ethnic groups in Xinjiang, with a history of more than two thousand years.
April 30, 2013, was a special day for the employees of Chengdu Qianchuan Wood Industry Co., Ltd., because they received a special gift from Xinjiang — Nang. Alimu, one of the Top Ten Touching Figures of China in 2011, airlifted 20,000 Nang from Xinjiang to the earthquake-stricken area for the people of Qianchuan. The Qianchuan people were deeply moved upon receiving this heartfelt gift.
Alimujiang Halike was selected as one of the Top Ten Touching Figures of China in 2011 in 2012. Living solely by selling lamb skewers, he is kind-hearted and has quietly supported impoverished students for more than ten years, donating over 200,000 yuan and helping hundreds of poor students. He has been present wherever there is disaster, including the Wenchuan earthquake, Guizhou snow disaster, and Yushu earthquake. Therefore, he is affectionately called "Good Baran" by the people of Xinjiang.
Qianchuan Wood Door met Alimu during the earthquake relief efforts of the April 20 Lushan earthquake. On April 24, he arrived in Lushan County with two truckloads of goods, totaling more than 30 tons, including instant noodles, eight-treasure porridge, mineral water, carrots, and 2,000 pieces of bread. After coincidentally meeting the frontline disaster relief staff of Qianchuan Wood Door, he expressed his wish to distribute the supplies to those who needed them most. However, unfamiliar with the distribution and geography of the Ya'an disaster area, he did not know where the damage was heaviest. After learning about the situation, the Qianchuan Wood Door Lushan command center took the initiative to guide them, helped transport the goods, and distributed urgently needed supplies to six villages in the hardest-hit and most inaccessible areas, including Chunguang Village in Taiping Town and Weita Village in Shuangshi Town. They also prepared a hand-grabbed meal for the disaster victims in Chunguang.
Alimu learned that 80% of the employees of Chengdu Qianchuan Wood Industry Co., Ltd. were from Lushan, and their family situations were not optimistic. Some elderly family members had passed away, some were injured, and most houses were damaged. Seeing that the Qianchuan people continued to participate in earthquake relief work despite their injuries, Alimu was deeply moved. At parting, he repeatedly thanked the Qianchuan brothers for their help and kindness.
One week after the earthquake, Qianchuan employees gradually returned to the company, and the company resumed normal production and life. Unexpectedly, a few days later, on April 30, they received a pleasant surprise: Alimu sent 20,000 Nang from Xinjiang to the disaster-affected employees of Qianchuan. This care from beautiful Xinjiang, in the form of small Nang, warmed many hearts. After receiving this batch of Nang, the company divided it into two parts: one part was sent to the disaster area to those who needed it most; only a small portion was kept for the Qianchuan employees who had returned to work.
Just like the award speech written for him at the 2011 Top Ten Touching Figures of China award ceremony: "The joyful Baran sings loudly in the bustling streets. Hardship has not cooled his enthusiasm, and reputation cannot change his faith. The simplest compassion of a person stirs ripples of kindness among the crowd."
He will always be the happiest good Baran. This special gift conveys not just a piece of Nang, but the unity of the Chinese nation as one family, and the indispensable kindness of our great nation!
