The Founders' Meeting of the Chengdu Ya'an Chamber of Commerce was held in Qianchuan

　　At 3:30 pm on May 17, 2013, at Chengdu Qianchuan Wood Industry Co., Ltd., the United Front Work Department of Ya'an Municipal Committee and the Ya'an Federation of Industry and Commerce took the lead in convening the initiators' meeting of the Chengdu Ya'an Chamber of Commerce. Wang Jun, Deputy Minister of the United Front Work Department of Ya'an Municipal Committee and Secretary of the Party Leadership Group of the Ya'an Federation of Industry and Commerce, along with eight well-known business leaders from two districts and six counties of Ya'an, participated as initiators of the Chengdu Ya'an Chamber of Commerce. Zhang Qiang, Secretary-General of the Ya'an Federation of Industry and Commerce, and Wang Jing, Director of the Comprehensive Section, also attended the meeting.

　　The meeting was opened under the chairmanship of Minister Wang Jun. At the beginning of the meeting, all attendees stood up to observe a minute of silence for the compatriots who died in the April 20 Lushan earthquake. Minister Wang said: "Ya'an has experienced two major disasters within five years. Many Ya'an entrepreneurs developing in Chengdu have extended a helping hand. The purpose of establishing the Chengdu Ya'an Chamber of Commerce is to better unite Ya'an entrepreneurs in Chengdu, better support earthquake relief efforts, and develop more rapidly."

　　During the meeting, Minister Wang reported on the preliminary preparation work of the Chamber of Commerce. In 2011, the Ya'an Municipal Committee and Government proposed the strategy of opening up and building Ya'an, with the concept of chambers of commerce from other places developing together and investing back home gradually taking shape. In March 2012, the establishment of the Kun Ya Chamber of Commerce marked the beginning of the formation of Ya'an chambers of commerce outside the city.

　　The meeting conveyed the importance and expectations of the Ya'an Municipal Committee and Government regarding the establishment of the Chengdu Ya'an Chamber of Commerce, reported on the previous stage of liaison, recommendation, and investigation of the Chamber of Commerce initiators, and participants actively discussed the necessity, importance, and feasibility of establishing the Chengdu Ya'an Chamber of Commerce. They conducted extensive communication and exchanges on the work of forming the Chamber, unified their understanding, approved the draft charter and other documents, negotiated the establishment of the preparatory organization, elected the leaders of the preparatory organization, and studied and arranged the preparatory work.

　　The meeting decided to establish the preparatory working group for the Chengdu Ya'an Chamber of Commerce, and through democratic recommendation and consultation, selected the preparatory group leader, executive deputy leader, deputy leaders, and other responsible persons.

　　Luo Zhengren, Executive Vice President of the China Wood Door Association, wood products expert, and Chairman of Qianchuan Wood Industry Group, was unanimously recommended as the leader of the preparatory group of the Chengdu Ya'an Chamber of Commerce and will take the lead in all preparatory work in the future; the Chairman of Sichuan Xikang Mining Co., Ltd. was appointed as the executive deputy leader; Chen Bin, Chairman of Taishi Biotechnology Co., Ltd.; Zhang Zhongwei, Chairman of Chengdu Fengfeng Food Co., Ltd.; Luo Bo, General Manager of Sichuan Keming Water Conservancy and Hydropower Engineering Co., Ltd.; Li Xibing, Deputy General Manager of Gugu Water Industry Co., Ltd.; Liu Tianbao, Chairman of Sichuan Ruilong Investment Management Co., Ltd.; and Ding Wanping, Chairman of Wangping Hydropower Co., Ltd. were appointed as deputy leaders respectively.

　　Minister Wang Jun, combining the rapid economic development and increasingly improved investment environment in Ya'an in recent years, put forward new requirements on the important significance of establishing the Chengdu Ya'an Chamber of Commerce, building platforms, providing good services, strengthening industry self-discipline, and preparatory work.

　　The business leaders attending the meeting reached a consensus on actively promoting the preparatory work of the Chengdu Ya'an Chamber of Commerce in an atmosphere of mutual respect, democratic consultation, equality, and harmony, successfully completing all tasks of the meeting. Under the instructions of Ya'an city leaders, the attendees expressed that they would actively carry out the establishment work of the Chengdu Ya'an Chamber of Commerce and complete the work goals on schedule according to standardized procedures.
