Seeking Serenity Amidst Prosperity — Lin Ming'an, Carpentry Workshop, Qianchuan Wooden Door Central China Base

Introduction: 23 years old this year; born in Shaanxi, raised in Sichuan; worked on electronic display screens at Foxconn, operated forklifts in Sichuan, and entered the wood products industry for the first time; volunteered to come from his hometown in Sichuan to Hong'an, Hubei, over 1,300 kilometers away; became the acting leader of the milling group in the woodworking workshop within three months and earned the highest salary in the woodworking workshop; he is Lin Ming'an, the acting leader of the milling group in the woodworking workshop.
Youth is an age full of passion, dreams, and vibrant energy. Young people are often labeled as impulsive, restless, and arrogant. A young heart has too many ideas, pursuits, and thoughts—how should one face this bustling world? Youth holds infinite possibilities, and the life you choose is the way you realize your dreams and repay your youth. Lin Ming'an, acting leader of the milling group in the woodworking workshop at the Central China base, chooses to repay his youthful years with a calmness amid the hustle and bustle.

"Since I have come, I will settle down; no matter how ordinary the work in front of me is, I must do it well."
It was this understated sentence that gave the reporter a different impression of this seemingly quiet and reserved young man. The post-90s generation is often called the "lost generation," thought to be mostly selfish, reckless, and lacking ambition. However, Lin Ming'an, a post-90s, is quiet and speaks little, works silently, and mostly stays at home during rest, somewhat reminiscent of the post-70s generation. Yet he volunteered to come from his hometown in Sichuan to the unfamiliar Hong'an, over 1,300 kilometers away, without hesitation. This spirit of braving storms and daring to explore the unknown is very much in line with the post-90s style.
At the Chengdu headquarters, Lin Ming'an worked on edge grinding of door core panels in the woodworking workshop. When he heard that the Central China base needed many talents, he thought it over, said goodbye to his family, boarded a train to Hubei, and started a new journey. There were 12 colleagues traveling together; some left due to physical discomfort, and six remained and have persisted until now.
"At first, I felt very tired, and the salary was not high. I was conflicted about whether to persist. Later, I calmed down and analyzed why others could earn money but I couldn't earn as much. There must be something wrong with myself. After identifying the problems, I solved them one by one. Since I have come, I will settle down; no matter how ordinary the work is, I must do it well." When the reporter asked how he persisted, he answered simply and powerfully. Such a steady heart is exactly what many young people entering society lack.
"I am very satisfied, but I still have higher goals in my heart."
When Lin Ming'an first arrived at the Central China base, he was assigned to the milling group. The wooden door industry was a completely new field for him, and he had to start learning from scratch. The master from Sichuan said he studied diligently and progressed quickly. Sometimes when other positions were short-staffed, he was happy to help. He said this was a good opportunity to train himself, learn different skills, and accumulate broader experience. Lin Ming'an is introverted and calm, works earnestly and seriously, and was soon recommended by his master to be the leader of the milling group in the woodworking workshop, only three months after joining the company. In September, he earned the highest salary in the woodworking workshop.
The reporter asked if he was satisfied with such a high salary. He smiled lightly and said he was very happy and satisfied but could not be complacent. He still had higher goals. The workshop's output is increasing every month, and he believes they will earn even higher salaries in the future! Having goals and not being restless, achieving plans step by step—it's rare for a post-90s young man to face life and work with such an attitude.
"I have thought about starting my own business, but currently, my ability and experience are not enough. I will first do my current job well."
In this era full of opportunities and challenges, everyone harbors a dream of entrepreneurship, hoping to achieve great success one day. This entrepreneurial dream is also deeply hidden in Lin Ming'an's heart. Before joining Qianchuan, Lin Ming'an had learned a bit of woodworking and developed a strong interest in wood products. Now, having joined Qianchuan, he has a deeper understanding of wood products and gradually fell in love with this industry. "There are many small wood product processing enterprises in my hometown. I admire them and hope to have my own small workshop one day." He smiled shyly and added, "But now I don't have that ability yet. There is still a lot to learn. Whether or not I have the chance to start a business in the future, I want to do my current job well. I cherish my days at Qianchuan; I can really learn a lot of useful things."
So, what impression does Lin Ming'an leave on his colleagues and senior masters?
"Lin Ming'an is a very earnest young man, but he still lacks in management and needs more practice."
Yang Wu, supervisor of the woodworking workshop, and Master Fu, who leads Lin Ming'an, have similar evaluations of his current work: "He is introverted and quite young. Some team members are older and joined Qianchuan earlier. Managing a small team is not easy. Sometimes there are arrangements that are not appropriate. Compared to some experienced leaders, he still has some shortcomings." When the reporter asked why he was chosen as acting leader despite these shortcomings, Supervisor Yang said, "Lin Ming'an is very earnest and serious. Young people should be given more opportunities to train. We are optimistic about him and hope he will grow slowly." Strict teachers produce outstanding apprentices. Supervisors always have high demands on employees to cultivate better talents. Qianchuan provides an excellent stage for outstanding young people to train and showcase themselves, allowing them to fully utilize their abilities and become better talents.
"He is a good leader who not only helps us solve work problems but also often helps with life issues."
There are nine people in Lin Ming'an's group, from Sichuan and Hong'an. Everyone has a good impression of him, finding him gentle and meticulous. "When he sees us slow down or stop working, he knows we must have encountered a problem we can't solve and immediately comes over to help," a colleague from the milling group told the reporter. Lin Ming'an is very attentive; although he doesn't talk much at work, he always observes whether colleagues have problems and helps solve them promptly. Not only work problems but also life problems can be brought to him. Some colleagues who just arrived had not yet received their salary, and he proactively lent them money so they wouldn't worry and could focus on work. At work, they are colleagues; after work, friends. Gradually, everyone developed tacit understanding, and work cooperation improved.
Without accumulating small steps, one cannot reach a thousand miles; without gathering small streams, one cannot form a river or sea. Every small accumulation becomes a cornerstone of life. Lin Ming'an will use his actions to accumulate step by step at Qianchuan and enrich his life gradually.
