As the pandemic persists, we "won't retreat" — Qianchuan Wooden Door volunteers demonstrate responsibility through concrete actions

In the early morning of July 29, the Chenghua District COVID-19 Epidemic Prevention and Control Command issued the "Notice on Comprehensively Strengthening Social Area Control." The Qianchuan Wooden Door "Volunteer Service Team" promptly responded to the order, strictly implementing the city's direct agencies and state-owned enterprises' "team-style" support plan for epidemic prevention and control in 12 districts. They took the lead, assembling a reserve support team of more than 30 members composed of party member backbones and outstanding youths to help Chengdu build a solid epidemic prevention barrier and resolutely win this epidemic prevention and control battle.

At noon on July 30, the volunteer team arrived at the support community. After brief training, following the principle of "proximity and convenience," volunteers were dispersed to 8 points in the Tiaodenghe Street of Chenghua District. They went down to the frontline of community epidemic prevention, assisting medical staff in nucleic acid testing, maintaining order, scanning codes for verification, registering, and helping grid workers conduct inspections in the grids. After three hours of volunteer service, their clothes were soaked with sweat, and their fingers turned pale and wrinkled, but they remained ready to engage in the next battle at any time. At 11 p.m., as the epidemic prevention work was phased to a close, the assault team ended their 8-hour hard fight, orderly organizing more than 5,580 people at the points to complete nucleic acid testing, becoming the brightest red spot of that night.

On July 31, volunteers received news from the community and rushed to carry vegetables in three residential areas under Tiaodenghe Street. Under the scorching sun, the long line formed by volunteers was particularly striking. Bags of vegetables were neatly and orderly stacked in relay by the "red dragon." Carrots, cabbage, lettuce... stacks of vegetables were the most stable guarantee for residents in the closed communities. Even though drenched in sweat, the volunteers remained spirited.

On August 2 and 3, during consecutive nucleic acid tests amid the hot summer heat, volunteers patiently soothed the citizens' irritability; for elderly people who could not operate smartphones, they proactively helped fill in information to ensure orderly registration of every person; during door-to-door inspections, they carefully inquired whether anyone had returned to Chengdu from medium- or high-risk areas outside the city. Their hard work helped each round of nucleic acid testing proceed quickly, orderly, and in compliance with regulations.

The company actively responded to the call of the Party and government, decisively stepping forward at critical moments, proactively connecting with the community, dispatching capable personnel to the frontline of the epidemic fight. They did not avoid the summer heat, difficulties, dangers, or risks. Within five days, they excellently completed key tasks including health code verification for over 50,000 people, material transportation, checkpoint duty, community personnel information entry, nucleic acid testing, and policy publicity and consultation. This fully demonstrated the excellent party spirit, noble consciousness, and good demeanor of Communist Party members, Communist Youth League members, and advanced masses, playing an important role in winning this round of epidemic prevention and control battle.
