Public Welfare to Assist Agriculture and Disaster Reduction | Qianchuan Wooden Doors Caring for Wenchuan in Action…
Public welfare is a heavy responsibility and a long way to go.
Poverty alleviation and helping the needy are traditional virtues of the Chinese nation, and unity and strength should be demonstrated even more in the face of natural disasters. From the Wenchuan earthquake, Lushan earthquake to Ludian, Qianchuan Wooden Doors has unconditionally helped the disaster-stricken people overcome difficulties and rebuild their homes. This time, it has also participated in a sustainable public welfare activity — Caring for Wenchuan Public Welfare Activity.
On August 20, a sudden heavy rainstorm hit the mysterious land of Wenchuan. Due to the heavy rainfall, multiple mudslides and landslides occurred in Wenchuan County, Aba Prefecture. This caused power and communication outages within and around the area, and all roads leading out of Wenchuan County were cut off, plunging Wenchuan into a severe crisis once again.
Since the May 12 earthquake, this mysterious land has once again had its more than ten years of peace and tranquility shattered by mudslides "falling from the sky." Just like in 2008, this time it still touches the hearts of hundreds of millions of compatriots across the country.
After the heavy rain caused massive mountain floods and mudslides, the Qingcui plums in Maoling Village, Wenchuan County, suffered serious sales blockages due to road disruptions to Chengdu caused by the mudslide disaster. Upon hearing the news, Qianchuan Wooden Doors actively prepared a poverty alleviation and assistance team to warmly help the affected households.
Mid to late August is the season when Qingcui plums ripen and come to market. Wenchuan is rich in fruits and vegetables, which are the main economic source for most local farmers. A disaster threatens to wipe out a year’s hard work, which is unacceptable to many growers.
Natural disasters are ruthless, but there is love among people. Qianchuan Wooden Doors purchased the severely unsold Qingcui plums from impoverished households, buying a total of 4,000 jin (approximately 2,000 kg), hoping to do their best to send care and warmth to compatriots in the disaster area.
Currently, the crisp and delicious plums have been delivered to Qianchuan Wooden Doors headquarters and distributed to every employee. Employees expressed that the company’s action to help fruit farmers in the disaster area solve urgent problems is very humane and warm-hearted.
Upholding the company philosophy of social responsibility, Qianchuan Wooden Doors has always regarded "charity, poverty alleviation, and helping the needy" as its charitable mission during its development. Therefore, it frequently organizes various public welfare activities to fully support poverty alleviation and disaster relief efforts. In the future, Qianchuan Wooden Doors will continue to carry out such public welfare activities, insisting on delivering help to those in need.
