Qianchuan Role Model Journey | The ancient capital of thirteen dynasties shines brightly, striving to reach the top after thirty-three years of experience
After a night's rest, everyone was full of energy and started today's journey. The weather in Xi'an was clear and sunny. We set off with the morning light, heading towards Lishan. Since the Zhou Dynasty, Lishan has been an imperial garden, filled with palaces and villas, and the warm springs of Xiuling.

Our first stop was the Tang Dynasty palace Huaqing Palace on Lishan. The mountain was adorned with colorful clouds competing with the green, and rows of green trees. The tragic love story of Emperor Xuanzong of Tang and Yang Guifei took root here. The grandeur of the flourishing Tang Dynasty has transcended thousands of years of history. Looking at Lishan, one can still faintly see the old palace.

Under the guide's explanation, everyone enthusiastically learned about the history of Huaqing Palace. Huaqing Palace consists of the Imperial Hot Spring Site Museum, Jiulong Lake, and the Tang Pear Garden Site Museum, among others, featuring iconic buildings such as Feishuang Hall, Zhaoyang Hall, Changsheng Hall, and the surrounding gardens.

Entering Huaqing Palace, one encounters numerous pavilions and grand halls. Two palace-style buildings stand symmetrically on the left and right, magnificent and imposing. Passing through the Dragon Wall leads to Jiulong Lake, whose surface is as smooth as a mirror, reflecting pavilions and willows brushing the shore, creating a unique garden scenery.

A few steps further is Haitang Pool, the birthplace of the timeless verse "In the spring chill, bestowed a bath at Huaqing Pool, the warm spring water smooths the jade-like skin," where the imperial consort bathed. Jia Pingwa once wrote, "There is a river flowing backward in the Qinling Mountains," which probably flows into Huaqing Pool, washing out Yang Yuhuan's national beauty and the An-Shi Rebellion of the Tang Dynasty.

Besides the widely known love stories, Huaqing Palace also holds many political stories such as Yang Guang's flag planting and the Xi'an Incident. Our group also visited the site of the Xi'an Incident, located in the five-room hall of the surrounding garden within Huaqing Palace.

The room's furnishings still retain their original appearance. On the walls, bullet marks from the fierce battle during the military admonition by Zhang Xueliang and Yang Hucheng remain to this day.

After appreciating the grandeur of the Tang Dynasty, we naturally could not miss the mausoleum and burial artifacts of the ancient emperor Qin Shi Huang, one of the world's eight wonders — the Terracotta Army.

We arrived at the Qin Shi Huang Mausoleum Terracotta Army Museum. Standing at a high vantage point overlooking the pits, the rows and lines of terracotta warriors were very orderly and magnificent, inspiring awe.

Looking at these thousands of warrior statues, each has a different expression, with realistic and natural carvings full of vitality, truly lifelike.

According to the guide, every warrior's facial features are detailed, with clear wrinkles on collars, strands of hair, and even palm lines and shoe sole patterns carved, showing the meticulousness and difficulty of the craftsmanship.

They have stood silently here for thousands of years, guarding the sleeping monarch, confronting the towering mountains with supreme dignity, demonstrating the strength of a great empire to us.

Also worth mentioning are the Qin Mausoleum bronze chariots and horses. The ingenious designs of the horse bridles and the sunshade umbrella mechanisms on the chariots that change angle with the sun amazed and impressed us. The spirit of craftsmanship infused with wisdom by ancient artisans especially moved and shocked us from Qianchuan.

After visiting the Terracotta Army, as dusk fell, we went to the Tang Dynasty Music Palace Theater in Xi'an to enjoy the musical dance "Empress of the Tang Dynasty."

This visual feast recreated the scene of the Tang Dynasty from the Zhenguan to the early Tian Shou years, giving us immersive sensory stimulation and a time-travel illusion, allowing us to appreciate the extraordinary legend of Empress Wu Zetian.

Surrounded by eight rivers, vast Qin Chuan, nearly a hundred emperors from thirteen dynasties competed for supremacy in the ancient capital Xi'an, realizing their grand dreams. Ordinary people in history, with their exquisite skills, left traces of their existence after thousands of years. Tomorrow we will continue to explore this millennia-old city and unveil its mysterious veil.
