Technology, Quality, Brand: The Main Theme of the Wooden Door Industry Development

Since its establishment three years ago, China's wooden door industry has been growing vigorously at a rate of over 30% annually. In 2007, the total production value of wooden doors reached 40 billion RMB, with exports amounting to 700 million USD. In 2008, the wooden door industry will move towards more standardized, scientific, efficient, and brand-oriented development.
The Wooden Door Professional Committee of the China Wooden Door Circulation Association recently held a meeting in Beijing. During the annual meeting, several topics were discussed: the announcement by the China Building Materials Inspection and Certification Center of the first batch of wooden door enterprises passing CTC certification, discussions on creating Chinese famous brands, and the launch of the top 30 enterprises selection activity.
At the meeting, Zhang Guolin, chairman of the Wooden Door Professional Committee of the China Wooden Door Circulation Association, said in his speech that the continuous boom in the real estate industry and the accelerating urbanization process, along with the rapid development of the construction industry, have brought a linkage effect to the wooden door industry. The wooden door market can be said to be growing bigger year by year. How to enhance enterprises' attention to product quality and continuously promote fair and orderly competition in the wooden door market is an important issue faced by the industry association.
CTC product quality certification is an important initiative launched by the Wooden Door Professional Committee last year. The association reached a consensus with the China Building Materials Inspection and Certification Center on wooden door product certification, aiming to improve product quality and technological content in the wooden door industry. The first batch of 23 enterprises passing the CTC product quality certification was announced at the meeting. The vast majority of these 23 enterprises are among the industry's "top 30 enterprises."
CTC product quality certification is based on the national industry standard "Wooden Doors," relying on authoritative national testing and certification bodies to effectively guarantee and supervise product quality, reflecting the high demands and reliability of first-class products. Zhang Guolin said: "The Chinese wooden door industry is developing rapidly and well. The release and implementation of the national industry standard 'Wooden Doors' provide strong technical support for industry progress. The association has continuously conducted phased training on the 'Wooden Doors' standard across various regions, promoting the standardization of production and circulation in the wooden door industry. In 2006, our association successfully applied for the establishment of two standards: 'Wooden Door Installation Specification' and 'Wooden Door Maintenance Specification.' The first round of opinion solicitation meetings was held in Yinchuan in 2007; in 2008, expert review meetings for these two standards will be held and submitted to the National Development and Reform Commission for approval." It is understood that the China Building Materials Inspection and Certification Center has established a strategic partnership with the China Timber Circulation Association. The National Building Materials Inspection and Certification Center, approved by the Certification and Accreditation Administration of the People's Republic of China (CNCA) and recognized by the China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment (CNAS), is currently the largest and only independent legal third-party authoritative inspection and certification institution in the domestic building materials inspection and certification field.
CTC product certification is based on the principle of "fairness as the foundation," leveraging professional technical resources in building materials to provide enterprises with more and more distinctive value-added services, helping them steadily improve product quality, reduce liability risks, ensure continuous improvement in business management, thereby enhancing corporate image, strengthening competitiveness, and enabling enterprises to gain more profits. At this annual meeting, under the organization of the association, participants conducted in-depth discussions on enterprises creating Chinese famous brands. Guan Runkai, chairman of Runcheng Chuangzhan, said in his speech: "Chinese famous brands are currently the highest level of product quality awarded by the government and have been widely recognized by consumers. The implementation of the national famous brand strategy has played a profound role in adjusting our industrial structure, improving our independent innovation capabilities, guiding consumption, and revitalizing national industry. Runcheng Chuangzhan Wood Industry continues to respond to the national famous brand strategy, strengthening independent innovation, promoting technological progress and enhancing core competitiveness. Our goal is to strive for internationally competitive international brand products, making our brand products a driving force for economic development." Brand promotion committee members Ai Feng, Li Baoguo, and Zhao Guangjie, dean of Beijing Forestry University, attended the seminar and delivered excellent reports respectively.
